Thrift Update - April 2

This past week wasn't bad in the way of estate sales. (Garage sales were a different story.) The Little and I made it to two estate sales. The first was at a location we have been to twice before - it is a pole shed where they bring the items in. I have had really good luck here in the past and did again this time. The umbrella stand, plus the canes and umbrellas, was $21. Just reselling the canes and umbrellas should make that back. I also found a green handled kitchen utensil, a fishing litho, a water pump planter, bridge talleys, a jello cookbook and a fabulous copy of the Song of Hiawatha.

The second estate sale was huge! Lots of stuff! I came away with a lot of smalls. My favorites being this awesome pottery piece (if anyone recognizes it or it's mark I would love whatever info you can provide - thank you!)

I also liked this handmade container using old Christmas cards. I love the days when nothing was wasted!

I also really liked this fur headpiece with netting and the awesome water lily and cat tail linens and the tablespoons linen! In wonderful condition!

The total weekend haul.
The dog dish was a garage sale find. It was that and a tomato cage that totalled my garage sale finds for the weekend.

I am moving into gathering mode this month! I am preparing for a garage sale in a couple weeks. (I really am feeling weighed down by stuff and need to lighten the load.) Also getting ready to sell my handmades at an Artisan Market (starting May 5) through the summer at a local winery and selling antiques at a local antique stores monthly flea market (starting May 12). Also need to take a trip to Clear Lake next Saturday to go through the stock there and see what needs to be changed out - what should go to the flea market and what of my new stock should move in. Etsy has really slowed down for me and I really need to start exploring other avenues online. Any recommendations? My time at the computer has been cut way down with the nice weather so we shall see what time I have...

  3. First timer here, wandered over from ATG's Monday post. I think I can identify that adorable piece of pottery for you. The mark looks like NM USA, the NM standing for Nelson McCoy. A great find in a post full of great finds!

    1. Thank you Loveday! My in-laws have a McCoy book so I will look it up there. I would never have gotten that. I only paid $12 so I'm feeling pretty good :).
